A research team from the national university of Singapore’s new study has found that blue leds can be a method of food preservation which does not contain chemical.
Scientists said that the best conditions to use this method is of 4-15℃, pH 4.5 weak acid environment. New dissected acidity food such as fruit and ready-to-eat meat in low temperature blue LED environment can keep fresh without further chemical treatment.
Although LED usually as energy-saving light source, but they also have bacteriostasis effect light. Sensitive compounds is contained in bacterial cells, absorb the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum (400-430 nm) and this part is mainly blue LED light inside. cells exposed to blue light that leds can cause.
