Terry McGowan, director of engineering for the ALA brought the news that in August the Illuminating Engineering Society has suggested the government stopping using CRI in defining energy regulations because CRI is insufficient to capture color perception, the combination of CQS and GAI might be the eventual replacement. While, N. Narandran, director of research at RPI’s Lighting Research Center, said that the LRC’s ASSIST program has being studying on the combination of CRI and GAI. No matter which one would be the replacement for CRI, the replacement is on the way.
